Uganda’s diversity is a home to over 1.500 species of birds found in a variety of habitats including montane rainforests, rich savannahs, volcanoes, arid semi-dessert, lowland and vast wetlands and many more different habitats. There is also easy access to several bird-rich habitats that are difficult to reach else where. As noted author Philip Briggs writes: "Uganda is arguably the best country in Africa for birds; with about 1000 species recorded in an area the size of Great Britain,” Uganda has numerous endemics including:

With some of the finest montane forest birding, the park has over 400 bird species with over 330 avian species. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK:

The park located in the southern-part of Uganda has over 600 bird species including the shoebill stork, African skimmer, Yellow Bishop, papyrus Gonolek, White-headed Barbet, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, Pygmy-goose, white-winged warbler, Black-billed Barbet, Lesser Swamp-warbler, Leaf-love,etc

KIBALE NATIONAL PARK:

The Park has about 400 species including Scaly Francolin, Uganda woodland warbler, grey winged pigeon, Red winged francolin, White-napped Pigeon, red chested fluff tail, Black-bellied Seed cracker, chestnut-winged, Abyssinian ground thrush, African pita, Joyful green bull, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, white-napped pigeon, white napped pigeon, grey throated fly catcher etc

LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK:

With a wide range of habitats ranging from tall grass savanna to acacia woodland, the park is a home to Black-headed Weaver, Black-bellied Bustard, Helmeted Guinea fowl, Morning Dove, Rufous-napped Lark, Ring-necked Dove, Grey-capped Warbler, African Fin foot, Coqui Francolin, Lilac-breasted Roller etc

MGAHINGA GORILLA NATIONAL PARK:

Situated near the Virunga volcanoes, the park is a home to Rwenzori Turacco, Handsome francolin, Dusky turtle Dove, Kivu Ground thrush, montane double collared sunbird, Lagden’s Bush Shrike, White tailed Blue fly-catcher, Malachite sunbird etc
